Hi there! My name is Jake DaSilva and I have ADHD.
I knew all of my life that I seemed to have different types of challenges than my peers did, whether that was in school or in the workplace. I was never the type of kid that would run around the classroom, so I was never labeled as having ADHD but the signs were there. Constant fidgeting, trouble paying attention and constantly disrupting the class were some of the many signs that I may have ADHD.
It took my brother being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult for me to even consider that I might possibly have ADHD myself. Years went by after his diagnosis and I put off seeking a diagnosis myself . Once my daughter was born I decided to get tested myself, because I knew if I had it there was a chance that she would as well (She does by the way). Finally getting a diagnosis in my late 30s I know what it’s like to struggle with untreated, unregulated and undiagnosed ADHD.
My goal with ADHD coaching is to support others in ways I wasn’t supported, to partner with them to help them achieve their goals and objectives through a collaborative, judgment free coaching partnership.
I use a strengths based approach because I believe that ADHD comes with challenges but also tremendous strengths that we seldom think about or focus on. Strengths that may have been buried because of the struggles we have living in a neurotypical world.
I am located in Toronto, ON, Canada but see clients anywhere in the world through the magic of the internet.
